The Vienna Giant Ferris Wheel, erected in 1897 to mark the 50th anniversary of Franz Joseph I's accession to the throne, is one of Vienna's most famous landmarks. Throughout its history it has been featured in film sequences, including "The Third Man" and the James Bond film "The Touch of Death".
