Infrastructure renovation work in Ulm

Due to construction work related to the commissioning of a new DB InfraGO signal box at Ulm Central Station, the following timetable changes will apply from Tuesday, 13 January 2026, to Sunday, 18 January 2026:

Train 963 will be diverted between Stuttgart and Augsburg via Schwäbisch-Hall.

Departure from Stuttgart will be approx. 90 minutes earlier at 05:42 (instead of 07:12).

Train 969 departs from Günzburg. We are providing a free rail replacement service (SEV) with buses for the journey from Stuttgart to Günzburg.

Bus departure in Stuttgart*: 14:30 Uhr
Bus arrival in Günzburg: 16:15 Uhr
Train departure in Günzburg: 16:29 Uhr

* The exact departure location for the rail replacement service will be announced at a later date.

Train 962 terminates in Günzburg. The onward journey to Ulm is by regional train – your Westbahn ticket is valid on this train.

General regulations for the Westbahn rail replacement service

Your Westbahn ticket or reservation automatically includes a free reservation for carriage on the bus replacement service for your selected connection.
ÖBB and DB tickets do not entitle passengers to travel on Westbahn rail replacement bus services.
A separate reservation for the bus must be made for all accompanying children under 6 years of age. Strollers must be folded and stowed in the luggage compartment of the bus. It is not possible to take them along in the passenger compartment.
Passengers in wheelchairs unfortunately cannot be taken on the bus. For further questions, please contact our Customer Service Team.
Due to the limited space available, bicycles can only be transported with a prior online bike space reservation.
Dogs, with the exception of assistance and therapy dogs in accordance with § 39a BBG, are not permitted on the rail replacement service.
