Zell am See

St. Johann im Pongau – enjoy the scenic nature
St. Johann im Pongau, nestled in the impressive mountain landscape of Salzburger Land, is the ideal starting point for nature and sports lovers.
In winter, the Snow Space Salzburg ski area attracts visitors with perfectly groomed pistes, while in summer hikers and cyclists can explore the Alps on numerous routes.
One highlight is the impressive Liechtenstein Gorge, one of the deepest and longest gorges in the Alps. The charming town also offers cosy cafés and regional cuisine.

Saalfelden am Steinernen Meer
Vast mountain landscapes, peaceful moments in nature and a wide range of leisure activities – your journey begins here in a region where relaxation and activity seamlessly intertwine.
Enjoy relaxing hours in the spacious valley basin of Saalfelden: on a hike around Lake Ritzensee, on well-maintained running and walking trails, or during a break in the lively town centre. As soon as the temperatures drop, perfectly groomed ski slopes, sunny winter hiking trails and a wide range of sporting activities await you in the surrounding mountains.

Werfenweng and Werfen – winterfun and castle magic
The charming village of Werfenweng lies 900 metres above sea level amidst the imposing mountain scenery of the Tennengebirge – whether it's snowshoe hikes, romantic horse-drawn carriage rides or ski action on the slopes: 29 kilometres of pistes, a kids snowpark and two ski schools guarantee unforgettable days of skiing for the whole family. Westbahn passengers staying at a Werfenweng Card partner hotel can use the shuttleservice from the station to the hotel free of charge!
The impressive Hohenwerfen adventure castle towers above the village of Werfen and invites visitors to enjoy exciting guided tours and bird of prey demonstrations. Another highlight is the Eisriesenwelt, the largest ice cave in the world, which delights visitors with its ice formations. In summer, hiking trails through the surrounding mountain landscape invite you to explore.

Bischofshofen – adventure at any time of the year
Bischofshofen, known as the traditional venue for the Vierschanzentournee, attracts winter sports fans from all over the world.
However, the charming town in Salzburger Land is not only famous for ski jumping – as part of the huge Ski Amadé ski area, the region offers access to hundreds of kilometres of perfectly groomed pistes for skiers and snowboarders.
In summer, the area is transformed into a hiking and mountain biking paradise, with breathtaking views and numerous outdoor activities.

Hallein
Hallein, picturesquely situated on the Salzach river, is a town full of history and culture.
It is particularly famous for the Salzwelten Salzburg in Dürrnberg, which offers deep insights into the centuries-old tradition of salt mining. From Hallein railway station, you can easily reach your next adventure in the salt world in 15 minutes by bus.
In the historic centre of Hallein, you can stroll through narrow alleyways and visit the Celtic Museum, which brings the history of Celtic settlement to life. Surrounded by beautiful nature, the region also offers numerous hiking and excursion options.

With speeds of up to 200 km/h, our ultra-modern double-decker fleet will get you to your destination quickly and efficiently. You can choose between three comfort classes for your journey with Westbahn: First Class, Comfort Class or Standard Class.
Every Westbahn train offers you maximum comfort for a pleasant and comfortable journey: spacious leather seats, each with a 220 V powersocket, free Wi-Fi throughout the train, air conditioning, spacious luggage areas with luggage locks, gender-segregated toilets and four WestCafés per train (with hot and cold drinks and snacks).
Our low-floor carriages with extra-wide entrance doors enable step-free boarding and easy luggage transport. There are also 18 bicycle stands available on each train, 16 of which can be reserved in advance.
