All services to Germany, Tirol and Vorarlberg will run as scheduled
Despite the announced strike by the German Locomotive Drivers' Union (GDL) on Tuesday March 12th, our WESTbahn trains will run with no restrictions to Rosenheim and Munich, as well as to Tyrol and Vorarlberg.

We have summarised all information for your upcoming journey with WESTbahn during the GDL strike in Germany.
Free service between Munich and Salzburg
All travelers affected by the strike and in possesion of a valid DB/ÖBB long-distance ticket, can travel for free with any WESTbahn train in our Standard Class between Munich, Rosenheim, and Salzburg on the affected days. An upgrade to our Comfort 2+ Class or First Class can be purchased directly from our onboard crew for a surcharge.
Please note: the Deutschland-Ticket, the Bayern-Ticket, other regional transport tickets as well as Deutsche Bahn employee cards are NOT accepted on WESTbahn trains.
Our "We are there you" ticket by WESTbahn
To facilitate your onward journey, you can purchase the "We are there for you" ticket:
- For the route from/to Munich/Rosenheim to/from Vienna, St. Pölten, and Amstetten: € 50,-
- For the route from/to Munich/Rosenheim to/from Linz, Wels, Attnang-Puchheim, and Vöcklabruck: € 25,-
Our "We are there for you" ticket (Standard Class) can be purchased directly from our onboard crew upon presentation of a valid DB/ÖBB long-distance ticket.
