WESTbahn is coming to Tyrol
The time has finally come: By popular demand, WESTbahn will expand its timetable on 11. December 2022 and offer the new direct connection Vienna – Innsbruck.
Whether you are planning a hike in the mountains or a city trip to the capital of Austria: we look forward to taking you to Innsbruck and back three times a day.
We depart, for example, at Wien Westbahnhof at 7:08 am. After stops on our WESTbahn main route, we have our first Tyrolean stop in Kufstein, followed by a stop in Wörgl. After that, you will reach Innsbruck Hauptbahnhof (central station) at 11:29 am. In the opposite direction, we depart at 6:31 am and arrive at Wien Westbahnhof at 10:52 am. (The trains pass the German Corner ("Deutsches Eck") from Salzburg to Kufstein or vice versa without stopping).
All timetables are available here.
Tickets for the new connections to Tyrol are already available – online, in the WESTshops (+ € 1,00) and in participating tobacconists (+ € 2,00).
- Travel at best with the WESTsuperpreis, starting at € 18.99 for the route Vienna – Innsbruck. These tickets are limited and linked to a specific departure, which makes them ideal for all those who book their travel flexibly and online.
- All travellers can find affordable standard and special fares for a comfortable journey in one of our three classes (First Class, Comfort Class and Standard Class).
Please find more helpful information in our FAQs or drop by in person: On 1 December 2022, we will open our own information and sales counter at Innsbruck Hauptbahnhof (central station).
We hope to welcome you soon on one of our trains to or from Tyrol!
