The winter season is here and nothing beats grabbing your skis or snowboard and enjoy some fresh powder snow in the alps. WESTbahn now connects Austria's most beautiful ski resorts with all major cities on our routes.

We have summarised all you need to know about getting aboard on one of our trains for your next skiing holiday.


With the WESTbahn to St. Anton am Arlberg

Ski areas along our WESTbahn route

In addition to the new stations in Vorarlberg, our route extension also includes 4 new stations in Tyrol.

The following ski areas are now particularly easy to reach with WESTbahn: Skiwelt Wilder Kaiser (via Wörgl station), Nordkette-Seegrube, Patscherkofel and Schlick 2000 (all directly accessible via Innsbruck), Hoch-Imst and Hochzeiger family ski area (Imst-Pitztal), Venet (Landeck-Zams) and of course St. Anton am Arlberg with its world-famous ski area – Austria's largest interconnected ski area and a dream for all winter sports enthusiasts among us.

In Vorarlberg you can easily reach the Sonnenkopf ski area (Langen am Arlberg), the Brandnertal ski area (Bludenz), the Laterns ski area (Rankweil) and the Bödele ski lifts (Dornbirn).

On our modern fleet, you can easily and conveniently bring your ski and snowboard equipment with you on your winter vacation – free of charge.

Each WESTbahn train has a total of 12 ski racks, which you can use. For all those who prefer snowboards for a downhill run, the luggage racks above your seat are available. 

 

With the WESTbahn to Tyrol

Our WESTbahn ski train

Our WESTbahn trains run 5 times a day to Innsbruck, Wörgl and Kufstein - since December 2023, we now also connect the most beautiful ski resorts in Vorarlberg with Tyrol, Salzburg, Upper Austria, Lower Austria and Vienna once a day.

For example, the WESTbahn train to St. Anton am Arlberg departs from Vienna Westbahnhof at 15:08 and takes you there in 6h 5min – prices start at 18.99 Euros. The return train departs at 06:51 and arrives at Vienna WESTbahnhof at 12:52. For a relaxed journey, each WESTbahn train offers three classes: First Class, Comfort Class and Standard Class.
