All announcements regarding current route information on disruptions, engineering works, industrial action, rail replacement services, route closures or other disruptions to the scheduled services of WESTbahn are summarised below. 

All route updates:

23.02.2025 | Salzburg – Innsbruck | Updated arrival time train 971

Due to engineering works between Salzburg and Kufstein by Deutsche Bahn InfraGO on Sunday 23.02.2025, train 971 will be delayed by approx. 50 minutes from Salzburg to Vienna Westbahnhof.

Other services from and to Innsbruck as well as regular services between Vienna and Salzburg are not affected.

02.03.2025 | Salzburg – Innsbruck/Bregenz/Lindau | Partial train cancellations

Due to track construction works by Deutsche Bahn InfraGo in Germany, the following timetable change will apply between Salzburg and Innsbruck/Bregenz/Lindau on Sunday, 02 March 2025:

  • Vienna, Salzburg → Innsbruck/Bregenz/Lindau: Train 970 terminates in Salzburg.
  • Vienna, Salzburg → Innsbruck: Train 972 is cancelled.
  • Salzburg → Vienna: Train 953 is cancelled.
  • Innsbruck → Salzburg, Vienna: Train 971 starts from Salzburg.
  • Bregenz, Innsbruck → Salzburg, Vienna: Train 973 starts from Salzburg.

All other WESTbahn services to and from Innsbruck and Bregenz as well as services between Vienna, Salzburg and Munich/Stuttgart are not affected.

20.04.2025 | Train 966| No stop at Ulm + Günzburg | Updated arrival time in Stuttgart

Due to engineering works in Ulm, there will be a diversion for train 966 on Sunday, 20.04.2025. As a result, this train will not stop at Ulm and Günzburg and arrival in Stuttgart will be delayed by 50 minutes:

  • The stop in Ulm is cancelled. 
  • The stop in Günzburg is cancelled.
  • Arrival Stuttgart 23:29 (instead of 22:39).

23. – 28.04.2025 | Innsbruck – Bregenz/Lindau | Train cancellations

Due to construction work from 23.04.2025 to 28.04.2025 by ÖBB Infra between Ötztal and Bludenz, the following timetable changes apply between Innsbruck and Bregenz:

Wednesday, 23 Apr 2025:

  • Train 973 runs as scheduled from Bregenz to Vienna Westbahnhof.
  • Innsbruck ↔ Bregenz/Lindau: Trains 970, 976 and 979 are cancelled.

Thursday, 24. Apr 2025 up to and including Monday, 28. Apr 2025: no rail services between Innsbruck and Bregenz/Lindau:

  • Vienna, Salzburg → Innsbruck/Bregenz/Lindau: Train 970 terminates at Innsbruck.
  • Vienna, Salzburg → Innsbruck/Bregenz/Lindau: Train 976 terminates at Innsbruck.
  • Bregenz, Innsbruck → Salzburg, Vienna: Train 973 starts from Innsbruck.
  • Lindau, Bregenz, Innsbruck → Salzburg, Vienna: Train 979 starts from Innsbruck.

All other WESTbahn services to and from Innsbruck as well as services between Vienna, Salzburg and Munich/Stuttgart are not affected.

12.05. – 05.06.2025 | Engineering works Vienna – St. Pölten | Partial train cancellations, updated departure and arrival times and extended journey times

Due to tunnel renovation works, the following timetable changes will apply between Vienna and St. Pölten from 12 May 2025 to and including 5 June 2025:

  • Direction Vienna → Linz, Salzburg, Innsbruck, Bregenz, Munich, Stuttgart: All trains depart 23 minutes earlier from Vienna; except:
  • Night train 998 departs as scheduled and arrives at all stations 23 minutes later.
  • Direction Bregenz, Innsbruck, Stuttgart, Munich, Salzburg, Linz → Vienna: Arrival of all trains in Vienna will be delayed by 23 minutes.
  • The daily connection to/from St. Johann im Pongau is cancelled (train 907 departs from Salzburg Hbf, train 924 is cancelled).
  • The following trains are cancelled: 900, 909, 912, 919, 924, 952, 955 and 959.
