Due to engineering works by DB Netz a free rail replacement bus service will be provided by WESTbahn with buses between Salzburg and Munich ZOB (Munich Central Busstation) and back on from October 15th to November 3rd. Due to the limited space available on the bus, it is mandatory to make a free of charge reservation. Please select your desired route above.

Timeframe 15.10. – 25.10.2024:

For trains 965 and 966 a free rail replacement service with buses between Salzburg and Munich Central Busstation (München ZOB) will be put in place. There are no stops in Rosenheim and Munich East. Trains 948, 982, 959 and 983 will run as scheduled – no bus reservation is required.

Timeframe 26.10. – 03.11.2024:

For trains 948, 962, 970, 959, 965 and 971 a free rail replacement service with buses between Salzburg and Munich Central Busstation (München ZOB) will be put in place. There are no stops in Rosenheim and Munich East.

Please note the following regarding the rail replacement bus service:

• The rail replacement bus service starts and ends at Munich Central Busstation (address: see below) – Attention: this is NOT the Munich central railway station. The stops Munich Central Station, Munich East and Rosenheim are cancelled.
• Please carry a valid identity card or passport with you.
• In addition to the reservation, a valid WESTbahn ticket or KlimaTicket Ö is required. 
• ÖBB and DB tickets do not entitle passengers to travel on WESTbahn rail replacement bus services.
• A separate reservation for the bus must also be made for all accompanying children under 6 years of age. Strollers must be folded and stowed in the luggage compartment of the bus. It is not possible to take them along in the passenger compartment.
• Persons in wheelchairs cannot be taken on the bus. 
• Bicycles cannot be taken on the bus.
• Dogs, with the exception of assistance and therapy dogs in accordance with § 39a BBG, are not permitted on the rail replacement service. 

Please note: The rail replacement buses depart and arrive from the Munich Central Busstation (ZOB), Arnulfstraße 21, 80335 Munich (see map below). Please plan a 20-minute walk from / to Munich Central Station.

From 15.10. until 25.10.2024 the buses depart at the following times:

• Salzburg (outside of the main station entrance) → Munich ZOB Busstation at 14:45 (arrival in Munich at around 17:00).
• Munich ZOB Busstation → Salzburg at 11:45 (arrival in Salzburg at around 14:00. Connecting train 967 at 14:22).

From 26.10. until 03.11.2024 the buses depart at the following times:

• Salzburg (outside of the main station entrance) → Munich ZOB Bus Station at 08:45 (arrival in Munich at around 11:00); at 12:45 (arrival: 15:00); at 18:45 (arrival: 21:00).
• Munich ZOB Busstation → Salzburg at 07:45 (arrival in Salzburg at around 10:00. Connecting train 961 at 10:22); at 11:45 (arrival: 14:00, connecting train 967 at 14:22); at 15:45 (arrival: 18:00, connecting train 973: 18:22).
